SIX Spotlight: Hope Relly-Cobb

We put the Human in "Be Human"

For those of you who are quite familiar with the world of SIX Marketing, or if this is your first time visiting -- "Be Human" is one of our core values here at SIX. And in an effort to display this, we are pulling back the curtain to introduce you to the humans behind SIX.

Today, we'd like to introduce you to another member of Team SIX -- Hope Relly-Cobb!

Who are you? And what is your job at SIX?

Hope Relly-Cobb — Marketing & Content Strategist.

When did you start here and how did you get here?

I started in July 2020. I applied for the position right at the beginning of the pandemic in March, just before New York went on pause. I followed up as soon as the Capital Region began reopening, and before I knew it, I joined the team.

What is a day in your life at SIX like? Does it vary? If yes, how so?

Every day is different! My niche is content writing and editing, but I also get to work on many other aspects of marketing on a daily basis. My clients and tasks are so different that no two days are the same.

What are your hobbies?

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, photography, and visiting historic houses and museums. My main hobby, however, is creative writing; I’m currently editing what I hope will be my first novel.

What is something when you tell someone they are shocked to know about you?

I took tap dancing lessons for 10 years. I typically prefer to be behind the scenes and don’t like being at the center of attention, but dancing was the exception – I loved performing on stage. I even had the chance to perform at The Egg a few times.

What is your favorite part about your job?

I love the variety. At SIX, I’m always working on something new and different. I enjoy tackling any challenges that crop up throughout the day. The tasks on my agenda in the morning are never the only things I’ve accomplished by the end of the day.

What is your greatest challenge at your job?

Right now, it’s the ever-changing environment of 2020/21 and how it’s affected marketing. For example, virtual trade shows are a new territory for everyone, and I’ve been very involved lately with learning their various platforms and best practices.

Why is this a challenge and what do you do to overcome it?

Each virtual trade show is different and brings its own challenges, so it keeps you on your toes. I enjoy a fast-paced environment and I’m pretty competitive, so I choose to see these challenges as an opportunity to learn and a chance to be among the first to adapt.

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?

What is the last show you binge-watched?

Gilmore Girls – again. It’s my TV comfort food.
