The next member of Team SIX we'd like to introduce you to is Keith Hannigan.
Who are you and what is your job at SIX?
“Keith Hannigan. I blog. I handle social media. I write exceptionally long G-chat messages.”
When did you start here and how did you get here?
“Initially started as a freelance blogger back around January of 2018. After leaving a career in radio marketing management, I moved to Georgia and took on content creation for SIX.”
What is a day in your life at SIX like? Does it vary? If yes, how so?
"If there is one consistent thing in the marketing world it’s inconsistency. Especially when handling multiple social media pages. I typically come in, research things to post. Analyze previous posts. Bash my head against the wall because ones I thought would perform well didn’t, and ones I had low expectations for had massive engagement and shares. Wash, rinse, repeat."
What are your hobbies?
"Well, I had to give up my fungus collection due to an apparent penicillin allergy. (Still not over that.) I love to despise my New York Mets fanaticism. Reluctantly still a New York Giants fan even though football kinda sucks these days. I love movies. I love to write. I love to write movies. "
What is something when you tell someone they are shocked to know about you?
"I was in a movie with Anna Nicole Smith and Joanie “Chyna” Laurer (May they both rest.) That and if you say you’ve never cared to watch any of the new Star Wars and/or have never seen Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, or Game Of Thrones--They look at you as if you speak Na’vi. (The language spoken in Avatar, which, shockingly enough I have seen!)"
What is your favorite part about your job?
"I love learning. I love discovering clever marketing campaigns. For example, I just found out that KFC’s Twitter account only follows 11 people. The 5 original Spice Girls, and 6 guys named Herb. 11 herbs and spices. I just love that!"
What is your greatest challenge at your job?
"Learning new things. Things in this world are happening at hyper speed. It used to be said that the day you buy a computer and bring it home, it’s already out of date. Same can be said about digital marketing. "
Why is this a challenge and what do you do to overcome it?
"I think there is a difference between being challenged and dealing with something challenging. It has varying levels of difficulty. If it’s something I’m challenged by, I seek assistance from my colleagues. If it’s challenging, then you go to work and find a solution. Collaboration is key, though. I think I ask “Can you take a look at this and tell me what you think?” more than anything of my fellow SIXer’s. "
If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?
“Junta by Phish. (By all means, judge.)”
What is the last show you binge-watched?
“Fargo all three seasons. Brilliant.”
